Unique Barrels. Unique Products.
The retired wine barrels we use are acquired from local wineries in Loudoun and other surrounding counties of Northern Virginia. Each barrel varies in color both inside and out due to wine staining on the inside and the elements to which the outside was exposed. Each piece of furniture reflects the unique character of the single barrel from which it was reclaimed.
Jumbo Bottom chairs are just plain comfortable. The natural curve of each wine barrel stave lends to the inherent ergonomic shape and design. When you lean back in one of our chairs, the curved staves craddle your back and bottom, enabling your body to experience ultimate relaxation.
Each piece of furniture is built one at a time with the utmost attention to detail and craftsmanship. Wine barrels are constructed of quarter-sawn oak, a superior choice of wood for building quality furniture. Quarter-sawn oak is known for both its beautiful, refined grain appearance and its strength and stability, resisting undesirable changes such as shrinking, twisting, and warping due to humidity/moisture. Oak will naturally endure the elements for many years but to further enhance and protect each piece, a water-based exterior finish can be applied.
